Lynn Home for Women
The Lynn Home for Women has been providing affordable rooms and meals for women for over 100 years. The residence occupies two buildings on Broad Street and is a major rehabilitation and redesign. While retaining the feeling of home and the Lynn Home for Women mission of affordability for women, the redesign creates 36 SRO units and 7 studio apartments by converting underutilized space into housing. The main entry is completely redesigned to reclaim its pre-1960s era charm and provide an inviting and wheelchair accessible entry. Most of the SRO units are enhanced with private bathrooms and the common areas are reconfigured to foster community and take advantage of a sunny rear courtyard.
